WCPD 2010 - 6th World Congress on Prevention of Diabetes and its Complications
The Aim of the Congress is to provide the most complete panorama for a discussion looking to obtain what in real world is needed to enable efficient strategies and tools for better diabetes diagnosis, treatment and prevention at all levels. eHealth Week 2010 (World of Health IT Conference & Exhibition / High Level eHealth Conference)
For the first time, the ministerial event known as the 'High Level eHealth Conference' and the 'World of Health IT Conference and Exhibition' will take place in the same week in a joint initiative called 'eHealth Week 2010'. This combined event is being organised by the European Commission, HIMSS Europe, the Spanish Ministry of Health and Social Policy, the Regional Government of Catalonia and Foundation TicSalut. The objective is to create one European high level platform for stakeholders sharing the common goal of advancing eHealth in Europe.
Telemedicine and Legal Aspects
This workshop is an initiative of the Directorate-General Information Society and Media European Commission to encourage the sharing of good practice in the area of eHealth. In particular, the workshop will address the legal and logistics dimensions in Telemedicine practice. Subjects to be covered include legal liability of practicioners, patient data privacy and protection, as well as financial and logistics subjects, such as reimbursement of services, etc. Furthermore, a telemedicine use case will be presented to the participants.
SEeHealth: The Roadmap from Concept to Practice
The seminar, which will host a number of respected speakers, among them representatives of the European Commission (Directorate General for Information Society and Media, ICT for Health Unit); the Minister of Public Administration, Government of Slovenia, Information Commissioner of the Republic of Slovenia, representative of Ministry of Health, Government of Slovakia; representative of Danish regions (both countries identified by the European Union as being successful cases of eHealth implementation); representatives of South East European countries (Montenegro, Romania, Serbia), which will present the regional good practice cases and a number of speakers from the private sector who will present the latest cases of ICT solutions in the field of eHealth.

MIE 2009: Medical Informatics in a United and Healthy Europe
MIE 2009 Sarajevo The Medical Informatics Europe (MIE) Conference is the main scientific event in medical, biomedical, and health informatics, held every two years out of three in Europe. Scientific presentations are from more than 40 countries and all continents. Its attendance is around 500–1000 participants especially from 32 European member countries of the European Federation for Medical Informatics (EFMI). The MIE 2009 conference will be held in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, from 30 August until 2 September 2009. Aim and scope The main theme of MIE 2009 is MEDICAL INFORMATICS IN A UNITED AND HEALTHY EUROPE. New medical, biomedical, and health informatics bridges must be built between the western and eastern parts of the European world. For this purpose, a panel of high-level scientists and health care managers will be invited to participate and give keynote speeches, tutorials, and organise in-depth workshop discussions.
