The EHDS regulation was published and went into force last month. However uncertainty persists regarding the impact on digital health products and services because of the expansive definition of EHR systems. The Commission made it clear this definition was wide on purpose, because it seeks “to ensure interoperability throughout the chain of connected systems” in the healthcare sector.

What does this mean for EHDS implementers in the public and private sector?

In this meeting of the Task Force we have invited Juha Mykkänen, Chief Specialist at the Finnish National Institute for Health and Welfare (THL). He will share with us his reflections on how the EHDS and its wide EHR definition will impact the Member States and their infrastructures, and how providers as well as makers of digital health products and services can comply with them. As a technical expert in the Xt-EHR project, Juha can share his background from discussions among the Member States.

There will be plenty of time for Q&A, and for engaging discussions among all EHTEL members and invited guests.
