Clinicians strike back. Despite the ongoing clinical constraints brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic, the vCare project is moving ahead concretely. vCare is now entering its final evaluation phase. During this critical phase, 10 patients will test the vCare services over a minimum period of 3 months.

The vCare team has released the fifth edition of its newsletter, where you can learn about the latest progress.

All about vCare’s coach

vCare aims to provide a smart coaching solution that is grounded in the logic of personalised care pathways. It works on virtual coaching activities to assist rehabilitation in elderly people and improve rehabilitation for people as they age.

vCare explores how data from three sources – the living environment, health information, and regular interactions with affected patients – can be linked intelligently. To do so, it relies on the use of a Virtual Coach. The assists and guides patients through their rehabilitation programme. It engages and motivates patients to encourage them to adhere to their rehabilitation plan and doctor’s advice in their home environment.

All about vCare’s latest developments

vCare’s most recent developments have focused on the collection of various forms of evidence: on readiness, on clinical benefits, on directions for exploitation

2021 overview: In the last months of 2021, vCare has been very active. vCare clinical partners have collected feedback from other external clinical sites on their readiness to consider the adoption of the vCare services.

What now? The vCare team continues to collect much-needed  clinical evidence  which can help to convince early adopters to take up vCare’s services. To help the partners develop an appropriate exploitation roadmap, vCare is making use of the European Commission’s  Booster Initiative, which supports European projects in making the most of their innovation potential.

Lately, vCare partners have participated in several major events, talking about their work. This has included presenting in the Digital Health Services, from innovation to prescription session of the 2021 Thought Leader EHTEL Symposium.

The latest of several vCare scientific papers was published by the Frontiers in Public Health review. The paper looks at how the project designed and implemented end-user involvement during the project lifecycle.

All these activities build solid groundwork for the remaining stages of vCare’s collaboration in spring and summer 2022. The next months will bring further exciting developments.
