The AboutPharma Digital Awards, now in their 11th edition, brought together more than 560 Digital Healthcare projects classified into 16 categories. The 2024 awards ceremony was held in Milan, Italy, on 16 May 2024. This year came the encore for the Campania-based company, Kelyon, led by Gaetano Cafiero.
Already in 2022, Kelyon won an award with AZFastnet - an online platform developed for AstraZeneca, the biopharmaceutical company, that simplifies and speeds up tests to determine the mutational status of specific genes in oncology and oncohaematology.
This year, Newborn Screening Campania (SNC) platform - developed by Kelyon in collaboration with DXC Technology for Soresa S.P.A in the framework of the Campania Region’s Sinfonia project - was awarded the top prize in the awards section on ‘HTA, supply and care’.
The Newborn Screening Campania (SNC) platform facilitates multi-centre and multi-disciplinary collaboration in managing information flows to promptly detect inherited metabolic diseases, hearing loss, and other rare inherited disorders. It was co-designed with CEINGE Advanced Biotechnologies, a centre of excellence in advanced biotechnology for the research and diagnostics of genetic diseases. The SNC platform enables monitoring of the National Health Service's provision of Essential Levels of Care (Livelli Essenziali di Assistenza, LEA) to all newborns. Moreover, SNC enables the registration of Certificates of Assistance during Delivery (Certificati di Assistenza al Parto, CeDAP), collecting data on all newborn deliveries in the Campania Region.
