    Connecting different types of data: xShare works together with other projects

    Three core actions are underway in the xShare project’s work on data sets. They are: the project’s close liaison with the TeHDAS2 joint action; its plea for better links between different kinds of data; and its examination of why a “only once” approach to data works. It is crucial that the uses of two types of health data, primary and secondary, are made to work together.

    Reshaping health for a stronger Europe: Join EHTEL in supporting important new policy directions

    For Europe to remain relevant and competitive in a turbulent world, it needs to invest in the wellbeing of its citizens. Making health and the life sciences sector a central pillar of the next Multi-Annual Financial Framework (MFF), starting in 2028, would send a strong signal.  

    With this in mind, the EU Health Coalition has agreed on several recommendations. As a coalition member, EHTEL very much supports these messages and suggested actions and recommendations.

    Policy directions: Potential European choices 2024-2029

    “In a world of adversity and uncertainty, Europe must choose to stick together and dare to think and act big. To live up to the legacy of our past, to deliver for the present, and to prepare a stronger Union for the future.” (p5, Political Guidelines)

    This message is a key part of the introduction to "Europe’s Choice”, an important document delivered by President Ursula von der Leyen on 18 July 2024 at the European Parliament in Strasbourg, France, when she was still a candidate for a second term to her mandate. Her candidature was, of course, successful.

    The European Health Data Space: Beyond the Regulation

    On 1 October 2024, Marc LANGE - EHTEL’s General Secretary was invited to give a talk on what’s happening regarding the European Health Data Space (EHDS) and what EHTEL is doing to assist the future implementation of the Regulation. The meeting was co-organised by the data working group of the European Children’s Hospitals Organisation (ECHO) in conjunction with the PHEMS project. The meeting was key for people working on or with children’s data, especially in hospitals.
